THE Island Explorer is a guesthouse convenient to Neiafu, the main town in Vava'u Tonga. It comprises two adjacent self-contained apartments, while the Canadian owners live upstairs. The apartments are modestly furnished, with kitchenette facilities, living and dining area and have wireless Internet. One unit has two bedrooms suitable for family or friends travelling together while the other is suitable for a couple. Though the apartments are not on the beach, they are convenient to all the facilities, banks, shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and tour operators in Neiafu. This makes them an affordable base if you wish to go diving, sailing, whalewatching or fishing each day.
